PROVENANCE : Presumably in the collection of John Goodwin, New York, 1960’s-1970's - American art market - Collection of Kenneth Dukoff, NY, until 2022.

EXHIBITED : This design was first shown, and most likely made for the Prima Esposizione Internazionale d'Arte Decorativa Moderna in Turin, 1902.

SIMILAR PIECES : Several examples of the armchair and settee variants of this design are known, however only two other side chairs are known, one in the collection of MOMA, New York and the other in the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, VA. All three chairs have the same upholstery, most likely original.
