SIMILAR PIECES : This piece is the only example of this design known to have survived. Another example, with a body made of green glass instead of silver but with a very similar lid and knob, is in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, inventory number NGA 86.1813.
EXHIBITION : An almost identical example, decorated with spider webs instead of sailing ships, was exhibited at the New Zealand International Exhibition, from 1st November 1906 to 15th April 1907 in Hagley Park, Christchurch.
