PROVENANCE : Commissioned around 1898 by Sir Pierre David, 'Chevalier David', for his house in Stavelot, Belgium - After his heath in 1948, the house and contents passed to his grandson, Sir Jean-Pierre David, 'Chevalier David', 1948-2000 - Collection of Daniel Carpentier de Changy, Brussels, acquired directly from the previous owner - British private collection, 2006-2018.
