PROVENANCE : Presumably designed for the mayor of Budapest Jànos Halmos - (...) - German private collection, Nuremberg, until 2021 - Sold by Hermann Historica Auction, Grasbrunn, Munich, 26th May 2021, lot 158 (listed as a XIXth century Vienese casket).
EXHIBITED : Exposition Universelle, Paris, 1900 - The coffer was presented in the Salon of the Mayor of Budapest alongside the Esplanade des Invalides in the Hungarian section.
