MARKS : Signed 'TDoat Sèvres' under the base. The stand is also signed 'TDoat Sèvres'. There is an old paper label marked 'G2 250' below the signature, possibly an exhibition label.
PROVENANCE : Collection of the artist, 1903-1911 - Acquired by the City Art Museum of Saint Louis, December 1911 - Collection of the Museum (Inv. n°346:11) until 1945 when it was deaccessioned - Kende Auction, sale 202, 11th May 1945, lot 387. Private collection, Pittsburgh, PA, 2010's - Collection of Robert and Susan Golashovsky, Doylestown, PA, until 2018.
EXHIBITED : Salon de la Société National des Beaux-Arts, Paris, 1903 and 1906 - The vase was subsequently shown at the American Women's League Department of the People's University in University City, MO in 1910.
